I am an Engineer, Past VP of Operations, Product Coordinator, and International Business Development Manager, for both UK, Europe and South East Asia, thus understanding the role of Logistics and Joint Venture Agreements.
I have also had the pleasure of Negotiating Freight Rates at the Atlantic Shipping Conference in Montreal.
Over my 35 years, I have been involved in numerous Acquisitions.
I am familiar with both the U.S. and Canadian Transportation Industry having been involved with Business Development for both PVC Roll Up Truck and Trailer Doors and also Fleet Management GPS Systems.
I am a Past President of the Brampton Board of Trade, a former Director of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, and a Past President of the Canadian Hardware and Houseware Association.
Today, I am using the sum of my experiences to do Merger & Acquisitions in the Canadian Transportation and Logistics Markets
Reasons Owners may wish to Sell
They may wish to retire
The business could go sideways if a couple of major accounts were lost
New business is hard to come by and at low margin
Profitability and cash flow are a continuous challenge
The Cost of Equipment and Fuel are a constant concern, along with a driver shortage
Manufacturing has gone to South East Asia, resulting in a shift to containers and a break bulk inventory arrangement, shipping to retailers
Technology has changed the way Logistics is done and how Inventory is managed, another level of overhead may be needed.
The stress of facing the business every day is no longer fun, when the option might be enjoying retirement, while in good health, with a nice nest egg.
We are a Specialist in the Transportation and Logistics Market versus our competition. We have over 1800 Transportation affiliated companies in our database from which we have uncovered those who want to Sell over the next five years and those who are on an Acquisition Path.
We understand the industry whether they be, Reefer, Flatbed, Dry Van, Bulk, LTL or Full Truck Load carriers, into Warehousing, Pick and Pack or Brokerage. We can relate to them all and across Canada.
We understand also that Private Carriers are not typically targets for Equity Firms, but better sold to similar entities where there is Synergy of Purpose, and thus possible Financial Benefits.
We understand also the need for Confidentiality within the Industry, so as not to frighten customers or alert the competition.
Valuations are also considered and dealt with in an understanding manner.
We provide a structured Marketing Process for Sellers to better understand how to take a company to market, removing the uncertainty of a Business Sale that they may have never done before. We remove the fear of the unknown.
